How Can I Know God?

But what does this mean?

The first thing we need to do is to acknowledge that no matter how good we think we are, we cannot compare to the glory of God and His righteousness. We can’t do anything to earn a relationship with God, or His love.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

God wants us to be in His Kingdom, He has given us the gift of eternal life, we can either choose to go to heaven and spend eternity in His presence or we can choose to live in eternal suffering.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

He has made a way for anyone, and everyone to know Him, that way is through believing His Son, Jesus, who’s undeserving death paid the price for us to have eternal life with God.

Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

As a first step to knowing God, wherever you are right now, you can make this prayer:

Thank you God that you love me.
Thank you for sending Your Son Jesus to die in my place.
I want to say how sorry I am for my sin and wrong doing.
Please forgive me, and make me clean of all guilt.
I believe in Jesus and that He rose from death, and is alive today.
Jesus, You are my Lord and Saviour.
Please fill me with your Holy Spirit, so I can live a new life for You.

‘One prayer, it can’t be that simple, can it?!

God loves to answer simple prayers, simple people, simple faith. It’s easier to know God through an honest heart, than an intellectual mind!

Now that you’ve made this response to God’s love, get to know God by building your relationship with Him alongside other believers. Our relationships with God are not exclusive, or private, but to be shared together. So why not come and join us on a Sunday, or at our mid-week Wednesday get-togethers. You’re in for the most exciting adventure of your life!

MEN OF THE STANDARD - Are you a Martha Man or a Mary Man?

Pastor Steve led another powerful OCC Men’s meeting where the men shared openly and honestly about what God was doing in their lives. These men’s meetings are a great forum for allowing God to truly move on the hearts of men.

Pastor Steve shared poignantly on the need to have a deeper revelation of the grace of God in our lives. He emphasised on how important it is for us to make God our great expectation and not man or an institution.  He then talked about the fact that many men gain their identity in what they do rather than in who God has made them to be. He went on to explain that men are creatures of action and consequently find it difficult to let go and let God lead. He encouraged the men to have a heart like Mary and therefore spend more time in the Word and in prayer so that their identity would be anchored in Christ rather than in what they do.

Luke 10:38-42
38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

The men shared mightily on some of the things that God was doing in their lives. It was said during the fast there was more time to seek God in prayer and receive from God. There was revelation that God’s grace was working in our hearts to be more embracing of people with different issues such as homosexuality, drug addiction and lust. It was also shared that in a time of worship the Lord showed a brother the need to trust Him in his difficult situation. One person shared the importance of allowing God to do the work of sanctification (making one more holy) rather than trying to achieve it in your own strength and falling into sin. Another man discussed a lifestyle of Christianity which means walking in consistency, commitment, character and covenant. We also talked about trusting God no matter what you are going through and making Him your refuge.

It was a great meeting in which all the men were edified, encouraged and enhanced for the Lord.

PROPHECY BY STEVE MAILE ON 2/01/11

My spirit is now moving for the final quest. The Lord says, centuries have gone and centuries have come, but we are at the pivotal point of the release of the anointing of My Spirit upon the earth. Things will not look as you have perceived them from days gone by, for there is coming a new time upon the face of the earth, there is coming a new heart, a new people, even a new breed of Christians who will demonstrate the likeness and the character of Jesus. For the Lord would say there have been many that have been disappointed, frustrated, even to the point of despair, but the Lord would say it is not time to throw the towel in, but it is time to stand as a conqueror clothed in the blood and in the humility of Christ, for as you stand toe to toe with the enemy, the Lord says I shall make you more than a conqueror.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

The Lord would say look not at the things that are, but look at the things which are not, the things that are seen are completely temporary says the Lord but the things that are not seen are eternal. Therefore, some that have been frustrated, some that have been disappointed, some that have put their faith in others are now questioning their own faith. Therefore, the Lord would say where is your faith?

Ephesians 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

If your faith is not rooted and grounded in Me you will be shaken, you will be disappointed, some of you if you are not careful, you will even become derailed, therefore, the Lord would warn you, in love and compassion, to say put your eyes off others, off things, off books and put your eyes onto Me. For if your eyes wander from Me you will be captivated in that which is the lust of the eyes, that which is the lust of flesh, that which is the boastful pride of life and you will be derailed.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

Therefore the Spirit of the Lord would warn you this day with love, with comfort and with strength to say, look not at your circumstances, they are temporary, look not at your finances they are temporary, look not at your difficulties they are temporary, look not at your marriage or your problems or your children, they are temporary, look to Me! Am I not enough to sustain you? Am I not enough to hold you? Have I not decreed that I would never let anyone take you out of My hands? Therefore, do not look at what you see in the natural, but allow the Holy Ghost to open the eyes of your heart to see as I would have you see, for the Lord would say even this year I would have you see as I see, feel as I feel, know as I know and if you will walk humbly, if you will have mercy, if you will love justice you will walk with Me.

Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
      But to do justly,
      To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

The Lord would say a new time is coming where I am dismissing the circus and I am beginning to build the kingdom of My bride, therefore, make yourself holy, prepare white linen garments and wash your eyes with eye salve or you will be left behind.

Revelation 3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

The Lord says I am preparing an Esther company, it is not a remnant. The Lord would say that remnant theology is a lie of Satan for My glory shall fill this earth as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

My bride will be glorious, it will not be an innocuous handful of people in a corner says the Lord, it is not a remnant, it is a multitude of people, it is millions for the Lord says, My bride will be glorious, My bride will be holy, My bride will be pure. Therefore, purify yourselves, therefore prepare garments of righteousness, wash your eyes with eye salve. That which does not produce life, put it aside, those you walk with that walk in heresy and division, put them aside, for I am a holy God, I am a jealous God and I will not walk with those who will compromise my eternal plans and purposes.
The Lord would speak again and say this is a year of decision, this is a year of determination, this is a year of the diligent, for the hand of the diligent will make rich.

Proverbs 10:4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Therefore, the Lord would say, if you would walk with Me humbly, love justice, love mercy, I will begin to perform the things that you have longed for, in your marriage, in your ministry, in your finances and even in your future. The Lord would say that this is a year of connection, apostolic, prophetic connection; this is a year of double doors of favour, double doors of finance, double doors of influence.

Isaiah 45:1 “Thus says the LORD to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held—to subdue nations before him and loose the armour of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut:

The Lord would say, take your eyes off human beings, take your eyes off human personalities, take your eyes off the circus, take your eyes off your celebrities and your books and put your eyes back on Me says the Lord and I will raise you up. The Lord says be faithful to the little in your life for much will come. The Lord says be faithful to those that I have joined you covenantally to, for this shall come under attack and attack and attack, and in a day and age where people cannot walk together the Lord would say I would caution you again, how can two walk together unless they be agreed?

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

Therefore, strengthen your marriage covenant, strengthen your Kingdom covenant, strengthen the covenant that you have known, or you will become derailed. The Lord says if you will do these things there shall come forth a new anointing, come forth new grace, come forth new wisdom. The Lord says I am going to raise up even in this place those that shall have influence in commerce, influence in the media, influence in education, influence in reformation.

The Lord says I am building a company of reformers. The Lord says it is not just this house; it is worldwide, reformers, those who will prepare the way, like John the Baptist, those who will give out a trumpet sound that will not become uncertain, that will prepare the way for others. Therefore, the Lord says be holy even as I am holy.

1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Be perfect, even as I am perfect, be mature, even as I am mature and look to Me for it shall be a year of triumph, it shall be a year of blessing, it shall be a year of breakthrough, it shall be a year of joy, it shall be a year of turnaround, it shall be a year of breakthrough and blessing.

TEACHING FROM PASTORS STEVE AND KARINA MAILE

THE PRESENCE OF GOD

1. The presence of God produces deeper intimacy.
You need to be a presence junkie. Linger in His presence.

 2. The presence of God causes you to abandon the programmes you are presently pursuing.
Don’t be so regimented in you mind. Legalism keeps you away but the presence of God keeps you on your knees pursuing Him.

 3. The presence of God puts something in you that makes you want to run after Him.
How can we demonstrate we are alive in Him – the presence of God is freeing. There are many actors and hypocrites in the church. The presence of God makes you live on the edge. When there is not much presence in your life you play it safe.

 4. The presence releases the supernatural.
We are not called to live an ordinary life. You are to know who you are in Christ. The anointing of His presence releases the supernatural, there are salvations and healings in Him.

 5. The presence of God gives you confidence.
Religious people cannot stand the confidence you have. You cannot learn it or go to university or be subject to psychology – it is the Holy Ghost.

 Philippians 1:6
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

 6. The presence of God will break fear, lack and anxiety. Weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning! There are trials but we are not to be fair-weather Christians. Praise your way out of it, come mountains or valleys – rejoice!

The presence of God begins to release new levels of vision, new dreams, see yourself like Jesus sees you. Be an original and refuse to die a copy! Don’t exalt men and things, only God. Jesus is a Person and He weeps over people who are in idolatry rather than worshipping Him.

THE FAVOUR OF GOD

Leviticus 26:9 - For I will look on you favourably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm my covenant with you.

He will look on us favourably, with favour.

What is favour? How can we be favoured?

Examples of people who were favoured in the Bible.

Joseph:
Genesis 39: 4 - So Joseph found favour in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house and all that he had he put under his authority.
Genesis 39: 21 - But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison

Joseph found favour in Potipher’s eyes, in the most unlikeliest place, in the place where he should have been feeling down, he found favour in the prison.

We should want the favour of God in our lives

People of Israel:
Exodus 3:21 - And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, and it shall be when you go that you shall not go empty handed.
Exodus 11: 3 - And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.

God made these people to find favour with the people of Egypt so that they were prosperous.

David:
1 Samuel 16: 22 - Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying please let David stand before me for he has found favour in my sight.

Esther:
Esther 2:9 - Now the young woman pleased him and she obtained his favour, so he readily gave beauty preparations to her besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king’s palace and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women.
Esther 2: 15 - Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai who had taken her as his daughter to go in to the king she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch the custodian of the women advised. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all who saw her.
Esther 2:17 - The king loved Esther more than all the other women and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Daniel:
Daniel 1:9 - Now God had brought Daniel into the favour and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.

Mary:
Luke 1:28 - And having come in the angel said to her rejoice highly favoured one the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women. Mary found favour with God.

Jesus:
Luke 2:52 - And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and men.
Just as Jesus we can increase in favour.

Ruth:
Ruth 2:10 -So she fell on her face bowed down to the ground and said to him why have I found favour in your eyes that you should take notice of me since I am a foreigner?

Ruth looked for favour and found it.

Hannah:
1 Samuel 1:18 - And she said let your maidservant find favour in your sight. So the woman went her way and ate and her face was no longer sad.

When she did not have a child, Hannah sought for favour and found it in the Lord.

Other people can find favour because of the favour of God in our lives.

Genesis 30:27 - And Laban said to him please stay if I have found favour in your eyes for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.

At work if we have favour, good character, if we are diligent, favour should come to that place because of us.

We have plenty of promises of God’s favour in our lives. We need to recognise it is God and not our own doing.

Psalm 44:3 - For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword nor did their own arm save them, but it was your right hand your arm, and the light of your countenance, because you favoured them.

Everything good in our lives is because of the favour of God. He loves to bless us for no particular reason. The favour of God in our lives enables us to give and bring Him glory.

We can seek out His favour, we can ask for His favour, we can even ask him to increase His favour in or lives.

Psalm 106:4 -  Remember me O Lord with the favour you have toward your people Oh visit me with your salvation.
Psalm 119:58 - I entreated your favour with my whole heart, be merciful to me according to your word.
Proverbs 11:27 - He who earnestly seeks good find favour, but trouble will come to him who seeks evil.

The Promises we have:

Psalm 5:12 - For you O Lord will bless the righteous with favour you will surround him as a shield.
Psalm 30:7 - Lord by your favour you have made my mountain to sand strong. You hid your face and I was troubled.

Favour makes our mountain to stand strong. Nothing can move us, nothing can touch us, problems, difficulties, tests, many waters will not suffocate us they will not quench His love for us.

Proverbs 8:35 - For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favour from the Lord.

We have found Him, we have found favour. We already have a measure of favour we want it to increase!

Psalm 102:13 - You will arise and have mercy on Zion for the time to favour her, yes the set time has come.

The time for favour has come we have to believe it.

Leviticus 26:13 - I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt that you should not be their slaves. I have broken the bands of your yokes and made you walk upright.

God has taken us out of that life of Egypt, our past. He has broken the yokes off our backs so that we can stand strong in Him.  There are many yokes that we still carry, because we have gotten used to carrying them. God has given us His favour, He has already undone the locks, it
is time for us to shake off the yokes and start claiming the favour of God in our lives.

We have the favour of God in our lives, that is why we will get the things we desire. When we walk into a room we should walk upright, we are vessels carrying something precious. The life of Christ is in us, the favour of God surrounds us.

BEING A BIGGER YOU (PART 4)

Matthew 19:16-29

Now behold, one came and said to Him Good Teacher what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? So He said to him why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. He said to Him which ones? Jesus said you shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, Honor you father and your mother, and you shall love you neighbour as yourself. The young man said to Him all these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack? Jesus said to him if you want to be perfect go sell what you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow Me. But when the young man heard that saying he went away sorrowful for he had great possessions. Then Jesus said to His disciples assuredly I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. When His disciples heard it they were greatly astonished saying who then can be saved? But Jesus looked at them and said to them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Then Peter answered and said to Him see we have left all and followed you. Therefore what shall we have? So Jesus said to them assuredly I say to you that in the regeneration when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother of wife or children or lands for My names’sake shall receive a hundredfold and inherit eternal life.

The young man’s treasure was his riches not Jesus. He could have become one of Jesus’s disciples but his heart was with His possessions.Riches and money can have such a stronghold on our lives that it can stop us from receiving eternal life. Sometimes we are unable to get free because we do not know that we are bound. We may struggle in life. To struggle may be the fact, but the truth is what the the bible says; that He who the Son sets free is free indeed! We may struggle but the truth is that we are set free.

God says it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Ephesians 2:1-10

And you He made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins in which you once walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fufilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

He made us alive! We were dead in our sins and trespasses, and He made us alive. We were doing our own thing; sons of lust, following our own desires. He made us alive by grace, we do not understand the work of grace on the cross. We try to please God with our doings and our striving but His grace is not dependent on our behaviour; He loves us just the same.

Our good works are those which are the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. These good works do not in themselves please God. It is His good pleasure that He wants us alive in Christ, and seated in heavenly places. We are supposed to rule.
We come into God’s presence beacause of His grace in our lives. We are children of the most high God, we have authority in our lives. It is the grace of God that brought us to Him, He takes the glory. We are saved because of the grace of God in our lives.

Mark 10:27

But Jesus looked at them and said, with men it is impossible but not with God; for with God all things are possible.

It was impossible for the young man to try to get into the kingdom of heaven with the works of the law. If he had taken hold of the grace of God it would have been possible. We in ourselves can never be good, but with God nothing is impossible. It was not possible for us to be saved in ourselves, but with God it was possible!

Luke 18:27

But He said, the things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

We are saved by grace. If we have not prayed on a particular day, God still loves us. He is not like us, He does not get moody if we do not talk to Him! It is for our benefit that we seek His face, it is for our benefit that we pray - He has made eternal life possible for us. We try to walk according to the spirit in our flesh but it is all by His grace.

The Fruit of the Spirit is like an orange, the whole fruit with many segments. There is no fruits of the spirit only the Fruit which are connected as one. We too need to be balanced as well rounded people. Not too much of one and not enough of the other. We are His children and He has already given us the fruit, we just need to use it. We are to choose the Lord, access His grace, it is there for us; free.

Luke 1:34-37

Then Mary said to the angel, how can this be, since I do not know a man? and the angel answered and said to her, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the highest will overshadow you; therefore also that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.

The Holy Spirit came upon Mary, the Holy Spirit has already come upon us, He dwells in us. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts 24/7.

Matthew 17:20

So Jesus said to them because of your unbelief for assuredly I say to you if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain move from here to there and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.

This is how we please God, not by trying to be good, but with our faith. For without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith pleases God, believing Him, taking a hold of His promises, pleases God.

1. God does not forget
Hebrews 6:9-12
- But beloved we are confident of better things concerning you, yes things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. For God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Many of us believe God; our faith needs to increase we can not rely on the faith we had last year! The more we know Him, the more we have faith in His works done by the grace of God operating in our lives. It is He who gives and flows through us.

2. God keeps His promises always
Hebrews 6:13-20 - For when God made a promise to Abraham beacuse He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying surely blessings I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you. And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. Thus God determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by oath that by two immutable things in which it is impossbile for God to lie we might have strong consolation who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul both sure and steadfast and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us even Jesus having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

3. God does not lie
Numbers 23:19 - God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent. Has He said and will not do? Or has He spoken and will not make it good? Behold I have recieved a command to bless, He has blessed and I cannot reverse it.

It is impossible for God to lie! The devil is the liar, and the thief and the murderer. What God says He will do. Many will talk against it, but His promises are true. He fulfills His promises.

2 Corinthians 1:20 - For all the promises of God in Him are Yes and in Him Amen to the glory of God through us.

Not the promises we make to ourselves, but the promises in Him are Yes and Amen!  We can have so much in Him instead of living a mediocre life. It is time to believe it and have it. The only way we will please God is with our faith. So many things are yet to happen if we believe God! We have the victory because we are not subject to the world’s ways. Have faith and cling to His promises!

BEING A GREATER YOU!

Psalm 107:9
For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

When we are hungry and thirsty for the Lord we attract God’s presence.  Faith attracts God. They attract God.

Luke 1:53
He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty.

Psalm 27:4
One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.

Isaiah 26:9
With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Matthew 8:19-22
19 Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.” 20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” 21 Then another of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

Jesus knows the intent of the heart and he knows whether we are hungry for Him and want to follow Him. We are all born with tenacity and will power. We mist discover it and give God the glory. We need the fruit of the Spirit which is self control. The question to ask yourself is ‘do you want more?’  Our goal is to be more like Christ and bring people to Jesus. We want to establish the Kingdom. If we are hungry and thirsty where do we go? God gives bread and living waters to us and we need to be hungry and do the basics that the Lord asks of us not what we like doing.

As people of God we bear a great name – Christians which means little Christ. People see our attitudes and how we behave and speak. Are we glorifying God?

Jesus died so we have the same inheritance as Him and become like Him. It is achievable if we walk in the Spirit and we listen to the Spirit. We need to eliminate fear in our lives and if you think about it we are in fear in different areas but whatever is not of faith is sin. We can do it! We are born of the Spirit. If you fail – fail forward.

These are the areas that we need to change in. we cannot change until we are accountable. Discipline and accountability change us. Children account for their acts with their parents until they become responsible. This is how we change and function. God makes us all function together as a body. We have the commandment to love God and love one another. When we want to be private about our lives and not share things about us with people this is not of the Spirit but of the flesh. According to the Bible we should submit to one another, pray for one another, share our burdens, rejoice together and weep together and share bread daily together. Animals know this and they stick together!  They are stronger in a pack.

WE MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

MANHOOD /  WOMANHOOD

The qualities traditionally found in men:
Courage, strength, integrity, character, faith and purpose in life.

The qualities traditionally found in women:
Femininity, modesty, integrity, character, faith and purpose in life.
We need to share on these areas, man to man and woman to woman. We have to ask people how they are doing in these areas. We should know the answers – what is your purpose in life? We know we have to die to ourselves, lay down our life and surrender to God. We must have a spiritual purpose and this is discovered in accountability.

We can’t just focus on our good qualities! No one is impressed by them – The Lord is not impressed! We must not copy the world and get our qualities from there. Find out what a man and woman should be like in Christ. Accountability will help you.

MARRIAGE

Malachi 2:15-16
15 But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. 16 “ For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. “ Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”

The Lord is the witness of this relationship of marriage. We come to church and in God’s presence we cry and respond to God but what happens when you leave the church? Sometimes people treat people badly once out of the church environment. We are a living sacrifice to God, an offering. God cannot receive us if we are thinking and speaking evil, rude and bringing judgments on others.

You can not just be accountable to your husband or wife, what happens if one of you is not doing well? For example if the man falls or the wife is jezebelic. We must be open to accountability even in the marriage. The bible promises heaven on earth in our marriages and the husband and wife are stewards of each other. You must be accountable, this is a covenant and there is no way out. We must take this covenant seriously because it can not be broken. We have a covenant with God and in marriage.
God detests it when this relationship is not working and we deal treacherously with one another. We cannot listen to people who are one way in front of the church and another way when they get home!

MINISTRY

We have to be accountable with our ministry – we have to lay down our own agenda. This is speaking of our godly ministry, not just the fivefold ministry. We al have a ministry – so which one? You can be what you want in the world but this does not mean that your talent is your ministry in the Body of Christ.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

We each have a unique talent from God and this must be used diligently for God’s service. Each has it’s own place in the church, no gift or ministry is better than the other all are key. All should work together for the common good. We all have gifts of the Spirit and we need to discover them. If you do not know your gift or ministry be available to serve in any area and you will discover it. You can’t refuse to help and say ‘that is not my ministry’, as you come before the Lord He will say He does not know you! What did God call you to do? He does everything right – one person will know what the Lord has called them to do; another may take longer to discover their call. He deals with each of us differently. You may be called to go faithfully to the prayer meetings, help with the sound, clean the toilets, and help clean other people’s houses. Whatever it is it is wonderful for the Lord. Ministry is not just preaching! We must have contact with people – we are all important. There are those with a heart for the persecuted Christians, musicians – no one is better.

Study: Romans 12:6-10

MANAGEMENT

We all have to manage our lives. This is the act o getting people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives. We have managers in our workplaces and we have to submit to them. Do you show respect to the managers? Or do you do what you like? If you are a manager, you are responsible for the people under you; they are watching your conduct. People know when someone is a good manager. The attitude that the world has to the work place is not what we should have. We should value our jobs; we are workers and should have the spirit of Joseph who flourished wherever he was. We should set an example to others, show them character and integrity and do more than is expected with excellence. Don’t moan – we refute wrong doing by our actions and the Lord can vindicate.

When you manage yourself you get yourself to accomplish desired goals and objectives. What are your goals?  You must be able to lead yourself before you can lead anyone else.

MONEY

Do you know that the curse in Genesis that we will work by the sweat of the brow is broken? We are blessed! All we have belongs to the Lord.  As you go to work as an example another person working alongside you can get the same as you but for them it is not enough. Somehow we are doing well. Do not go to work for the money – we do it finding our source in God. He provides for all that we need and we do it all as unto the Lord.

2 Timothy 3:2-6
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

It is the power of God that breaks laziness, lying and being unthankful.  I used to love money but that is no longer my incentive. If you are not a giver or a tither then you have a love for money. Let the power of God set you free!

BUILDING A BIGGER YOU!

God is building us; it takes time. Allow God to start and finish the work!

Psalm 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;

Psalm 139:13-14
13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

We need to tell the lost they are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are created for significance and we need to recognise how God made us. We’re dealing with syncretism today where everything is a mixture; but this does not deal with the root which is inferiority – not knowing who we are.

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

We come to the cross with negativity but we must appropriate the Blood of Jesus to destroy curses. The devil brings negativity; rebuke it.  When Jesus saved us He saved us to life: not to be a little worm. The DNA of God is in us! Most Christians look constipated! The greater One is in us and He wants to be loosed and have fun. He hates being confined in a body that tells people who He is not. He wants to be bigger in us.

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Jesus is knocking to get into the church! He wants to do greater things in us. Don’t say ‘take care’ – God wants you to take dominion! Take charge and control of your life:

1. Realise you are wonderfully and fearfully made
2. Take dominion and take authority of your life
3. Tell yourself you are not just a man – but a mighty man!
4. Know that we are made a little lower than the angels
5. You are more than a conqueror
6. Change the way you think.
7. Begin the talk the right way. Speak favour and blessing: confess: ‘money cometh’, ‘I am healed’. The glorious healing power of Christ is what heals us, not medical science!

God has saved us for a greater purpose. Don’t get stuck thinking that only the Pastors do greater things. The dreams God put in you were from the greater One. Don’t let the devil frame your world with negativity, inferiority or comparisons. God has put a DNA or blueprint in you, it must be released. Without achieving these dreams we are living in mediocrity and living half way. Be unstoppable in God. Nothing can stop us going to the top apart from ourselves – don’t blame God.

To live like this you have to:

1. Take control of your life – we have 30 billion thought processes in our brains daily. An attribute of the Holy Spirit is intelligence. Meditate on the Word of God and memorise the Word.

2. Control your speaking – life and death is in the power of the tongue. Speak to your own destiny. 75% of the time we speak negativity. Stop it! Forget last year or your failures. Only focus on the future successes. If you look back it leads to fear, doubt and sickness.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

3. Control what you do – this involves discipline, training and changing eating habits. Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Discipline your finances, home, health, family and children.

4. Control your hurts or they will control you. Don’t nurse your hurts from church; it fuels a bitter root. Refuse to be bitter; you will be hurt in church so learn to deal with it. So many people drop out of their high calling due to offence - more than money problems, immorality or lack of integrity. We must walk in the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation. Get up, believe again and rejoice. What you sow into you grow into. Don’t stop becoming the person you are meant to be.

5. Control your relationships and go for covenant relationships.

LIVING A LIFE FULL OF HIS GLORY Part 2

Matthew 15:10-20
10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.” 12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” 15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.” 16 So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”

How can we live in the glory without a clean heart and a life that is defiled? We need to make sure we’re clean vessels. In our walk we have to be practical and spiritual and we need to relate on a daily basis to the Word of God.

Encounters with God

Firstly you have to be repentant and saved. When we do this we return to zero so that we can be uploaded with things from the Spirit of God; getting rid of your old life. Don’t hang onto the old stuff thinking ‘I am happy here because I know this’. We have to let the glory come into our lives and flow in that glory. People fear change but the new is so much better!

God gives us more revelation. He amazes us the more we love Him. Now I have this life I need to clean it up, thank God for the times we live in. we know how to keep clean on the outward; but don’t forget to keep the inward clean. There was a clear separation between the godly and moral people. People live together and think it is normal! They have children together and think this is normal! It is not normal. We cannot be lukewarm, this is like the silly frog placed in the water that was cold initially and was gradually warmed up which killed it.

If I am my Father’s child I will hate sin. You have to hate sin.  As Christians what do we say? We have to be on our guard at work and at home; there are sayings that people repeat that are not biblical but if these are continually confessed they are believed.  Renew your mind! We’re different and special and we carry this treasure in us that we have to look after. Things come out of our mouth because of what is in your mouth. If we say ugly things, it is because in our heart is ugliness. We need to do a good cleaning job of our hearts. Don’t just feel guilty about these things, this does not bring change. Do something about it! The goodness of God leads to repentance. Don’t be surprised about the bad things you discover about yourself – we are fully grown and we need to face the ugliness in our lives. Nothing is too big for the Lord.

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing will be impossible.”

What comes out of our mouths can be cursing, swearing and disrespectful. Our words affect people’s lives. It is not the will of God that from our mouths come bitter water. We should be different from the world, but often there is no difference! It should be clear that we are Christians. We should be the light and salt of the world. As Jesus said, when the saltiness loses its flavour it must be thrown away.   Men and women need to learn how to conduct themselves around each other. As christians we don’t flirt or say silly things; words like ‘you’re sexy’ should be confined to the privacy of marriage.

Proverbs 10:19-21
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise. 20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom.

If the heart is clean, the flow of good things will come. We have to restrain our lips. The mouth should be a well of life so we need to be careful what comes out. With the mouth we produce life. Make a vow not to say things that hurt people on purpose. Determine not to say it if you know it will hurt people. You can apologise but you have said them. We carry the Spirit of God and if we know this we will act differently. But God helps us to get this revelation! Your body is not your own. God does not want you to defile it. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, not the church building! We should have holy fear when we conduct ourselves.

James 3:16
For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

The tongue is not that insignificant; it can defile the whole body. It is what comes out of your mouth that defiles you.  Adultery and fornication are not differentiated in Bible but people see adultery as bigger because it involves unfaithfulness in marriage. Some single men sleep around and see it as okay because they have not broken any vow. The Bible sees them the same. You are defiling God’s Temple. This can only be fixed by repenting and coming to Christ we can only be cleansed by the Blood of Jesus. To repent we must stop this behaviour and have a different attitude towards sin. We can’t continue in sin and then think we can fix it later.  God made us and is aware of our natural needs but that ‘giant’ must be asleep until marriage. God is preventing us getting hurt so we have a total fulfilment in covenant marriage. But this will not be wonderful if you have defiled yourself.

Rivers of living water

John 7:37-38
37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

If we are thirsty for His presence then only rivers of living water will flow out. This is praise, edification, and rebuke in love. To speak life is to flow with rivers of living water. Study your Bible and confess the Word of God. You have to step out of the boat like Peter. Seek God by persevering in prayer and worship – soon you will not need to put on a CD you will just enter in. When you think of the Lord and thank Him you can’t speak badly and rivers of living water will come out of you. The Holy Spirit is our helper – ask Him for help, He is no respector of persons. He wants vessels that will flow and not stop His flow by doing it in your own strength or by focusing on how weak we are. Jesus dealt gracefully with the woman at the well and just like her, He is waiting for you.

LIVING A LIFE FULL OF HIS GLORY

1. The glory of the Lord is not just up in heaven.

Psalm 72:19
And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen.

The whole earth can be filled with His glory

Numbers 14:21
but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD

All the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord whether you cooperate or not, you have to decide to be in it.

2. We need confidence to enter His presence.

Hebrews 10:19-20
19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

We must be bold to come into His presence; we can come into the holiest place. This is not just for the few. The more we press in the more confidence we have. Verse 20 is significant because this is by a new and living way. There is one sacrifice for us now that Jesus made, He is so accessible why don’t we go to Him? Any time you like you can go to the holiest place it is not just for the very important. We have attained righteousness as a gift from God.

3. Let the glory of His life be in you.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

When your problems get too much remember to declare that ‘it is no longer I who lives by Christ lives in me’. Don’t focus on yourself but let Christ be the good father, mother, son, wife, husband etc. This is the life we must live and access.

Romans 14:7-8
7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Colossians 3:3-4
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

We must not keep resurrecting ourselves, Christ lives in us now. When Christ, who is our life appears we shall be with Him in glory. We should be thankful for the way the Lord loves us. It is amazing that God gave His Son for us and wants us to be like His Son.

Ephesians 4:13
till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

The world does not know we are the sons of God because it does not know Him. When you are in a good marriage that represents the kingdom of God you will understand a wonderful level of respect, intimacy, love, and consideration. The husband will be strong yet tender; he leads the wife and considers her. This is exactly the relationship we are to have with the Lord. We are the Bride of Christ. So single men and women start now to find out what the Bible says you should be like as a husband or wife. As a married couple you have to outwork these qualities and start treating each other like Christ loves the church. Men you need to protect and look after your wives, women how do you see your husband?

If you are destined to be single you are able to focus on the Lord, however you need to be accountable and submissive to the Lord or you can fall foul of doing anything you like. Don’t hide stuff! In a good marriage you can tell each other anything. There is grace for us to grow into this and as we grow we have more confidence. Your marriage will either be heaven on earth or hell on earth – there is no middle ground! After salvation, marriage is the most important decision you will make, if you are married you are stuck! So don’t try to get out – remember it is no longer us who live but Christ who lives in us. This is how we can walk the way God wants us to. This takes us to the level of glory.

Our relationships project into our relationship with the Lord. Unforgiveness prevents us living in God’s glory. When we are full of glory we are like God. He loves everybody, and we must also. We need to know who Jesus really is, don’t believe the images people give to us. A lot of times those images are not biblical.

When are we going to enjoy the glory of God? The glory and anointing of God that we can carry is desired by the angels. Your spirit man catches this straight away but your soul is catching up. Once saved, we have been changed and we are different. God has totally changed us so that we can not hold onto the past any more. We can no longer be critical, believe in sickness, be offended all of the time, we can not lie and cheat, steal; look at men and women the way we used to. That old man has died and we are a new creation. We can not treat each other according to the past either because we are not like that any more.

Isaiah 6:1-5
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: “ Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” 4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 So I said: “ Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips,  And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.”

When Isaiah had a vision of the Lord sitting on the throne he felt unclean. We have been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb of God by repentance – we have to now decide to access God’s glory. God is constantly filling us, there is much more revelation – you can never know all the verses or revelations of God. There is so much more!

THE JOURNEY INTO SIGNIFICANCE

Psalm 142
 1 I cry out to the LORD with my voice;
With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication.
 2 I pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare before Him my trouble.
3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,
         Then You knew my path.
In the way in which I walk
They have secretly set a snare for me.
4 Look on my right hand and see,
         For there is no one who acknowledges me;
         Refuge has failed me;
No one cares for my soul.
5 I cried out to You, O LORD:
I said, “You are my refuge,
My portion in the land of the living.
 6 Attend to my cry,
         For I am brought very low;
         Deliver me from my persecutors,
For they are stronger than I.
7 Bring my soul out of prison,
         That I may praise Your name;
         The righteous shall surround me,
For You shall deal bountifully with me.”

The destination may have things that you did not anticipate. Most of it is fabulous but there are things that are not. Think of David - in the cave God does significant things. Sometimes cave time is the best time even though you are hidden and going through it and do not want to come out. God will get you out!

It is insane to try and hide things from God. He is there, you cannot outrun Him and you cannot live without Him. God is committed to our journey. Jonah tried to run – he ended up being thrown off the boat and swallowed by a fish. But he was spewed out onto dry land. Miracles of God cannot be explained away! This is why 120,000 people repented. What an amazing miracle to those people!

When you consider verse 4 above; we can all relate. There comes a point in life when you feel like no one cares. When we go through stuff we see what significance we become. There is a prayer beyond words which is called ‘the cry’. What is our cry? This is the marking of your significance. We have to deal with fear completely because it can cripple you – it may have manifested from doubts, negativity, and marital failure, loss of a child or loved one, or illness.

God is smarter than us! Think of your positive significant experiences: like the day you met your wife or husband, the day you were filled with the Holy Spirit – you can not walk with God without the Holy Spirit. God chose you because you stood out. This is why He chose David. He was called a man after His own heart despite his mistakes. David spent hours seeking God as a shepherd boy and God saw that. The devil tries to stop us moving forward, he tried this with Joseph. He tried to steal his significance.

We are created for significance and there are silent years when you know you are gifted and anointed but you are in a place of silence – know that these years are never wasted. God always turns a loss into a profit! Failure can never be fatal if it is the fertilizer to fuel your future. Mistakes and foolish acts will be turned into jewels. God wants to get us out of the way so that Jesus can get in the way. This is painful but we have to stop helping God out. Only when you come to the end of yourself do you get to the beginning. For example, Moses was a genius, he was strong and capable but he had to be stripped of his strength in the desert. When God called him at 80 years old he did not want to do it! Whatever does not look like Jesus has to go!

  • God is concerned with your:
    Money
    Marriage
    Manhood / Womanhood
    Management
    Ministry.

God is chipping away anything that does not look like Jesus. This could be your ministry, church, business, or what you esteem that God does not. The journey into significance does not come without pain and losses. You can not understand the losses in the pain because you will think it is you and not Him. Ask the Lord what this means for you. Ask Him what does not look like Jesus because you do not know! Some people need healing and deliverance in the area of marriage. Some desire marriage but are you ready to lay your life down for your wife? Ladies, are you ready to treat your husband like a king? The Holy Spirit is in Christian marriage and you are put together for significance.

Sometimes God allows financial ruin so that He can show you who you are in Christ. Or it could be that your ministry has to die. If you are an aspiring minister for God you must have the flame and fire to be trained, tried and tested in discipleship, deaconship and servanthood so you are approved. Remember your pastor is in your life by conviction; not preference and personality. Walk by the dynamic of God’s Spirit so that your life is built on conviction and character not personality and preference! God is challenging you – He is looking at your manhood and womanhood.  Where there is jealousy, lust or addiction you must desire it to be gone. He will cut if off.

Women; look into the mirror of the Word of God not the other mirror! You will find imperfections in that mirror and only see yourself the way the world sees you. But if you concentrate on the Word of God you will see yourself how God sees you. As women you have to live in reality, deal with insecurity, a poor self image – don’t be deceived by eyes. Open the eyes of your heart and look at your significant areas.

MAKING EVERYDAY A MASTERPIECE

Part 1

We have to live like everyday is our birthday, live with expectation, excitement, a better attitude, soaring and living higher because we know that God loves us.

The apostolic produces these things in us so that we can win souls.

Evangelism is an apostolic and the most important ministry in the church. Without the power evangelist the world will go to hell.

The devil has the church focusing on the Apostles managing government and the prophets with great insight and there are no evangelists reaching out to the lost.

The word Apostle means ‘Sent one’. The apostle Paul was an evangelist; if apostles do not have that gift for evangelism then they are not really apostles. There is an apostolic connection to evangelism.

1 Corinthians 2: 2-5
For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

The early church flowed in apostolic evangelism. Today in churches people are dealing with the wisdom of men, marketing, very little gospel, very little repentance, very little power for healing and miracles. The bible teaches power glorious evangelism in the church and with the saints.

Matthew 16:18
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

We need to be Christians who are bold, not Christians living in fear of a bigger devil than a bigger Jesus.
Evangelism will not make any sense unless we are prepared to move in the power of God.

We have to be planted in a local church and under apostolic ministry, without these we will become casualties.

We have a bigger Jesus than the devil. We have been given authority so we must use our authority. The keys have been given to us over our home and our children we have to use them. We must not put our keys on the shelf. We are the ones who will bind and lose; this is where the rubber really hits the road.

We have to make the decision in our lives to make each day a masterpiece or allow the day to control us. Are you in charge of your destiny? You have to know where you are going, otherwise how can other people follow.
Boldness Determination and Faith are the keys to making each day a masterpiece.

We have to get around genuine apostolic ministry so that we can become changed a new man and woman. We need to chase after God. Sometimes our old man tries to show. We have to say no and determine to make each day a masterpiece.

3 Rules of leadership
1. Everything is your fault
2. Do not complain about what you tolerate
3. Change it!

Evangelists get people to live the life, to live holy and be on fire for God, to win souls and encourage people to sow money. They jolt us and wake us up, we have to be open to be hit with the truth that everyday is a masterpiece. It your not living everyday like it is your birthday or a masterpiece it your fault!

Part 2

Wherever the apostle Paul went people were being saved, healed, delivered, churches were being started. He was a sent one. He was always accountable; he worked in team with other apostles.

1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

We are what we are by his grace; the anointing on an apostle will cause you to flourish. The gifting is not for you it belongs to God and He requires it. Serve God in team.

1 Corinthians 9:16-18
For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!  For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship. What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

We have to get back to leading people to Jesus. Most of the church does it when it is against our will. We need to preach of necessity and do this when not convenient.

1 Corinthians 9:16-18
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law,[ that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ, that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men that I might by all means save some

An evangelist has a passion and a burden for lost souls, and teaching others how win them; they are not just inspirational teachers. We need to be trained for the harvest. It is our job, we are full time ministers. Everything is full time in the Kingdom. Part timers will not do anything. We have to reach out, do not excuse yourselves; start winning souls, talking to your neighbours, ‘gossiping the gospel’.

Evangelists rejoice when people are saved, churches are on fire for God, new churches are planted: this means more souls. Become all things to all men that we might save some.

Keys:
1. Evangelism is an apostolic ministry not pastoral, it is an apostolic coin stolen from the church by the devil, but it is about to be restored.

Isaiah 42:22
But this is a people robbed and plundered, all of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prison houses; they are for prey, and no one delivers; for plunder, and no one says, “Restore!”

It is a time for restoring lost coins back to the church

2. We have been given the authority with the keys of the kingdom to bind and lose in the church. You have authority over the spiritual realm if you choose to use it.
3. People will not get saved if we do not reach out and start now.

3 Steps of leading a person to Christ

1. Approach: be friendly people respond, and get saved when they are overwhelmed with God’s love. Evangelists are skilled at approaching people for Jesus. Approach with a winning mentality.
2. Presentation: we need to be in the presence of God, be confident, do not get locked into doctrine: Romans 3:23, Romans 9:9-10 and Romans 6:23. When you have been in the presence of Jesus, He will then touch others through you. Do not allow strongholds to stop you
3. Close: Be a leader, take their hands and lead them in a prayer of salvation. Practice! It may be the first time a person has prayed that prayer. We need to roll up our sleeves and get in amongst the work: that’s the deeper life. We grow holier by winning more people to Jesus; we grow closer to Jesus by seeing miracles. We grow closer to the presence of God by being on fire.

Part 3

Everyday is a masterpiece our heavenly father looks forward to blessing us. Walk in a loving relationship with the Lord. He has bigger plans for us. We should be having fun, seeing miracles, building churches. Flowing in that which burns within us to do. Get ready for miracles, offerings, favour, face to face encounters with God. Having a different ministry.

1. Rely on the Holy Spirit

You will never know what you can do, who or what you are until the anointing gets on you.

2. Unashamed confession of Jesus Christ as Lord,

Get around people who love Jesus and his word. You are only committed to what you confess

3. Start praying

The depths of prayer will take you to the heights of praise. Be yourself

4. Get into the word

5. Do not try to do it on your own

Get under the authority of the local church

6. Do not be a stingy witness

Start giving to the work of the ministry. If you are growing start sowing.

7. Give your life to missions, cities, nations

Who are you dependant on, man, personalities, depend on God. Take the anointing of God into your lives, start loving people, praying for them. Do not be a stumbling block for the Gospel.

Part 4

We are joint heirs and when you understand you have an inheritance everyday is a masterpiece. God has got it figured out! He wants things to line up for us. He wants us to have godly relationships, apostolic connections, destiny relationships, and financial blessings, gifts of the Spirit with substance of land, buildings and resources.

Avoid fear and doubt. Stick with the good twins: ’suddenly and immediately’. Do not feed on fear and doubt but connect with destiny, something greater than you. You come out of fear into faith by praying in the Spirit without ceasing. The lines will fall pleasantly for us, even if this takes years of faithfulness. God wants us to be saved, healed and in love with your wife/husband and children and experience miracles.

How we live like everyday is a masterpiece.

1. Rely on the Holy Spirit power

Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Ephesians 5:18
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit

Live in that place of praying in tongues all day long! Develop a mentality of God being with you always. The presence of God never leaves us; He only leaves when we grieve Him. How can we live in the miracle power without the Holy Spirit?

You cannot say that you are spirit filled if you are not seeing people saved. we have to recapture His Spirit and anointing and see people saved. We are ambassadors 24/7 – seeing people saved is non stop glory!

Live with an unashamed conviction and confession of Jesus.
He is coming soon! Jesus said if you are ashamed of Him, He is ashamed of you.

2. Learn to pray

1 Thessalonians 5:17
pray without ceasing

Worship God and praise Him, there are 800 references to music in the Bible. God speaks of the giftedness of music and we need to understand the power of music and flowing in the Holy Spirit. You cannot take anyone anywhere you have never been and this kind of worship is radical not religious.

3. Get into the Word of God

4. Don’t try and do this walk alone

5. Start giving yourself to the anointing and the call of God.

Give of your time, treasure and talent to the will of God. Get around people who are part of your future; not those who cling to your past. Our top level relationships will register in our future. We need to operate in allegiances; the next level down is an alliance and then acquaintance. Always love people, be careful with people coming up and love people coming down! If you are not careful with your relationships and associations you will start to drop commitments, prayer, destiny, church commitment and relationships. Before you know it you will be connected with an acquaintance which has nothing to do with your future.

LOOKING FOR LABOURERS

Habakkuk 2:1-4
1 I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected.
2 Then the LORD answered me and said:
      “ Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
      Though it tarries, wait for it;
      Because it will surely come,
      It will not tarry.
4 “ Behold the proud,
      His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

We are longing to hear from the Lord; we have the Holy Spirit, Godly leadership, and the Word of God. If we are waiting to hear from the Lord, this should be with an attitude that is waiting for His correction. Write the vision and make it plain, the proud do not get into the vision. The vision of OCC has changed over the years, but the essence of it is the same.

We want to establish the Kingdom, therefore know that Jesus is the King and we must recognise that and make Him the King in our hearts. It could be that in reality we are the king in our hearts, or someone else. The subjects of the Kingdom of God must be willing to lay down their lives.  This is about loyalty and honour, not loyalty to man but to the eternal King. This is the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God has rules, and not all rules are bad! The Ten Commandments are there to save us from our sins – they express the love of God. The sadduces and scribes made the rules more important than healing someone. There is grace but this is important.

Equipping the saints means that the subjects will be equipped to multiply and then train others so that the Kingdom is expanding.

Evangelising to the lost means that we spread the gospel to people and see them saved. This vision starts in Watford but the vision must be to the nations. Our vision is bigger when we look at the nations!

We need to know these 3 truths:
1. There is a harvest. A harvest of souls, if the harvest is not reaped it is spoilt.
2. The harvest is ready and has been ripe for a long time.
3. There are not enough labourers.

Luke 10:2
Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

John 4:35
Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

When we are busy and we have lots to do, we make priorities and then do not focus on what we have missed because we don’t want to see it! This is how we are with the harvest of souls. They are still waiting, and we must focus on the harvest – who will take this to heart and do it?

About the labourers:

1. They must be willing to be trained.
Hebrews 12:11
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

When a child is chastened it is because of disobedience. We are only chastened because we need to change. Everything has a balance and we are not chastened for the sake of it, but only when we need it.

2. Labourers need a proven heart.
Philippians 2:22
But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.

Timothy had a proven heart and character.  We have to show that what we say, and how we are is made out in our actions. It is not the Pastors who are setting you up, but the Holy Spirit. Trials enable you to have a proven character; this is not just about preaching and being inspirational, you must live it! When you have a problem with certain things being spoken about like accountability, family values and money – what is the root?

None of us are perfect but thank God for the gift of forgiveness. Let our greatest desire be to please the King and bring glory to His name. With all our faults our earnest desire is to please God and for this we need relational friction!

3. Labourers do not allow distractions.

Correction is for your own profit. Consider the parable where the man bought the whole field for one gem. He did not care about the cost or the sacrifice.  You must find out what is a distraction and ignore it.

When offended – what is the root of the offence? It is because Jesus is not first in your life. That issue in your life is an idol. You will get offended, but get over it quickly and put Jesus back in first place.

4. Become a son.

We all have a picture of the ideal relationship between a father and a son. Timothy was a great example, he was a true son to the Apostle Paul, despite his Greek father; Paul was his spiritual father.

5. Is there anyone willing to lay down their life for the gospel?
1 John 3:16
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Jesus did it, we must do the same.

6. We have to be willing to give up everything

The disciples left all for Jesus and He tells people who do this that they will receive 100 fold now in this time with persecution and eternal life (Mark 10:28-31).

7. We need labourers for the harvest.

Who can be accountable? By being accountable we become crystal clear. There is nothing hidden to damage us later on in our walk. This is about being completely translucent. What I say I am, I am! Knowing that if no one sees, God sees. You only lie when you are afraid of people. But be more afraid of God because the devil is the father of lies and when we lie the root of that is connected to him. You must show the real you, people only misunderstand you because they do not know the real you. Be open, real and don’t perform! If you are real you will not push people away, if they break your trust remember you are doing everything as unto the Lord. Get closer to the Lord and say ‘I did it for you Lord’. You can’t please everyone, but you can please God! If you are a worshipper and love God then you can be faithful and go for it!

WHEN DISCIPLINE IN THE CHURCH IS NECESSARY

Discipline is necessary when anything breaks the unity in the church and the fellowship the church has with Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 59: 1-2
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you,
So that He will not hear.

Joshua 7: 10
So the LORD said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.

God wants to send His glory to His church, but He has to clean up His church first.

God has given the church power to execute judgment in certain areas.

1 Corinthians 6:2-3
2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

Matthew 18:15-17
1. “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. (v15)
2. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. (v16)
3. And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. (v17)

It is important for there to be unity in the local church.  Biblical discipline prevents the spreading of rebellion in the church to others. The greater love of God is that he will leave the 99 to save the 1. Se we should not break fellowship because of one brother or sister who refuses to change but as the bible tells us to leave them unto God. He is the Great Shepherd and He is capable of saving the brother who is in error.

Discipline is always unto restoration never unto condemnation. We must keep our hearts free from offence.

Responsibility of the Church

1. We are our brother’s keeper.

Galatians 6:1-2
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

2. We must demonstrate that we do not live unto ourselves

Romans 14:7
For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

3. Sin is not insignificant. God is holy, He wants a Holy and powerful church, He makes us holy in our conduct, and then He will release His power.

4. To teach that sin is contagious and must be cured and go into quarantine.

5. Manifestation that the Christian life is a corporate life; involving all of us working together.

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

We are to be one; think the same way, do the same things. God wants one body in unity.
The rules of the house are set by the Senior Apostolic minister. When Pastor Steve tells us to pray we pray, when he tells us to lift our hands we lift our hands!

6. Demonstrates strong recognition of membership. There are no lone rangers present.

7. Provides sovereignty of the local church. The church is like the Supreme Court on the earth. Our head is in Heaven: Christ.

8. Provides ground for the church to execute discipline in her own ranks so that God can trust her to execute judgment on the heathen.

2 Corinthians 10:6
and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

WE MUST BE IN AGREEMENT AND ALIGNED WITH GOD

Psalm 16:1-6

1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
2 O my soul, you have said to the LORD,
         “You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
3 As for the saints who are on the earth,
“They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”
 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god;
Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,
Nor take up their names on my lips.
 5 O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
         You maintain my lot.
 6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.

We must remember that our inheritance is rich, undefiled and fades not away. Our Heavenly Father has an inheritance for us. People who do not get that inheritance live on cheese and crackers! Don’t live like a beggar when you are rich. We are often like that; we should believe for more and for bigger.  This way we will bear fruit in our old age!

They main question we need to ask is how can we line up with the will of God for our lives. If you think of a large streamliner ship coming into harbour, you will note that there has to be order when it is coming in, otherwise there will be a major incident. Everything we do must be in accordance with the will of God, the Word of God and the work of God; the peace of God must be present and then the circumstances have to line up. We must walk by faith and not by presumption. We have to grasp it and keep praying – we will then be able to see that God has done it! When you delight yourself in the Lord He will give you the desires of your heart.

Matthew 7:11
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Three principles that will change you forever:

1. Principle of Agreement (Covenant)

2. Principle of Alignment

3. Principle of Allegiance.

The word equip in the Greek means to set bones in place, to mend something and put a bone into alignment.  The first thing we must do is agree with God against ourselves.

Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

You can only walk with God in agreement and you can only walk in a Christian marriage in agreement. The way you treat, walk, and talk with your pastors mirrors your relationship with Jesus. The strongest rope is one with three strands. You must cut covenant, it will not be in place because the pastors have prayed for you! Without a covenant there is divorce. Disagreement comes from the flesh and if you persist it will take you out of the will of God. Also, don’t meddle with someone elses quarrel!

Your disagreement could be in terms of morality – you must agree with God because fornication is out of the will of God. But if you mess up, repent and agree with God quickly!

Alignment must be in these areas:

1. Marriage – we must build according to God’s pattern.

2. Ministry – for example in your serving you used to be focused and come early and now you do not. If this is a bone out of joint it could be painful, but you have to be under fivefold ministry.

3. Your manhood or womanhood

4. Money

5. Management – you could be out of alignment in that you used to read the Word of God and pray. Get back in alignment and make sure you are planted and are at every prayer meeting.

If you hang out with leaders you will become a leader. There is power in your associations.

Proverbs 13:20
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Line up with people of the same quality and substance in God. Do not be unequally yoked. Align yourself with people on fire for God and who are wise with character and influence.

When there is allegiance God’s anointing busts out and eight things will be shaken:

1. Governments

2. Apostles will be released to the Body of Christ

3. Miracles are released – they are easy when we are aligned!

4. We will choose to operate in humility

5. There will be unity with our brothers and sisters

6. You will be set in order:
1 Corinthians 12:28
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

7. The Vision is set, boldness is released, businesses are set up, cities are taken and nations affected!

8. You will be released to be the leader, the man and woman of God you are called to be.

THE HEART

The Holy Spirit is saying lets go deeper and press into God.

Luke 6:44-45
44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Proverbs 4:23
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Saul could not find restoration because he never had a covenant but David did. God is restoring us and to do this He must expose the heart. David’s heart was bad due to a twisted identity. There is a deception if you will not allow the Holy Spirit to change you. If you behold Jesus you are like Him. People who look in a still lake and see self are divisive because they are in love with their own reflection.  We are to love others more than ourselves – if you are self centred you can’t look at God. The foundation of sin is self.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Don’t seek things and your own desires but seek Him. The foundation of Christ is the Kingdom. People are more concerned about their condition on the earth. David fell into that way of thinking, he should have gone to war but he did not. He had a better heart when he was not promoted to success! He started looking at his own reflection and entered into sin. God is shattering the worship at the broken cistern of poisoned water. What are you drinking? Desire to behold Him, then you will love your husband, your wife, your children and people. We must be alert to the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the boastful pride of life.

Ask God to deal with the heart. We do not know the extent of our heart - we must know that when we sin we sin against God. We have been conceived in sin, not Immaculate Conception! We know that God cover our sin when we repent, but God covers without covering up. We have junk in our trunks and God removes the trash! Crisis is normal and necessary to grow and we go from different levels of growth. Every level draws a new devil. But you have to agree with God against yourself. Admit your sin but know that God will touch you for His glory.

Brokenness is needed for this message to work for you. Do not glory over yourself, this is why people fall. We are special and His chosen people but remember to always worship God. Don’t compare yourself to others who you consider to be worse! If you stand next to Hitler you may seem better, but when you stand next to Jesus – how do you look now? Ask Jesus to cleanse you – there are many things that we worry about that He doesn’t! When we hold onto things it stops us holding onto God. Set your face to seek God and allow Him to solve everything in your life – practice His presence. When you die to self, you live. Let the King have dominion in your life. You can not fool God, the truth will always come out. So look to Him!

FACE TO FACE

Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

When we start meditating on the Word of God it changes us. We need to be driven deeper into Christ. Jesus is waiting to have face to face encounters with us. The Lord wants to transform this world with face to face encounters with His people.

Ps Steve had a face to face encounter with the Lord and it changed him and is continuing to change his life.

Romans 15:9-11
and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: “For this reason I will confess to you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.” And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!” And again: “Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!”

Jesus chooses yielded vessels like Rahab and Ruth. We have the blood of the Omnipotent One running through us. We are the gentiles who have been grafted in. When you feel as though you have lost all hope, remember that He is the hope of Glory in us. Hope is Holding Onto Promises Eternal in Him.

Jesus has called us uniquely to run a race. Our uniqueness is our finger print and DNA to our destiny. We can only achieve this by having face to face encounters with the Lord; a deep level of intimacy and closeness of relationship.

Jesus had intimacy with His disciples. We need to have a great relationship with the Lord so that we can have a great one with each other. We cannot have the Vertical relationship with the Lord without the horizontal relationship with each other. That is why we are a body and need each other. Jesus went to the Cross for us so we no longer need to hold onto offence. We deal with offences by having face to face with Jesus.

Acts 15:16 -19
‘ After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the LORD who does all these things

We need to enter into the essence of worship. Every addictive nature within us seeks a spirit encounter with God. That is what why were made to have face to face with Him. When you don’t have the face to face truth will always confront us.

1. Living face to face is God’s way of blessing all humanity.

We are saved when we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord, not through being born into a Christian family or being connected to a church.
We have been indoctrinated into the ways of Christ, we have to let go of those things that prevents our face to face.

2. Psalms of David: Are an integral part of New Testament Worship.

David lived his life by face to face encounters with God. When he took his eyes off Jesus, he lost his face to face. We have to focus on the triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We need to keep topping up on our face to face so the fire does not go out. Practice the presence of God. Jesus practiced everyday. Let it become a discipline until it becomes a delight.

3. The book of James speaks again about the tabernacle of David: Worship

4. New Testament Apostolic Worship will cause a big difference.

5. Pattern for last day encounters: Prepare the pathway for perpetual praise.

CLAIMING YOUR INHERITANCE

We as people of God have to stand in faith and believe that we have an inheritance that will not pass away!
Our inheritance is BIG! It involves finances, people, nations generational wealth, connections to the Apostolic, palaces, commerce, the market place, businesses, new ideas, hidden treasure, sealed treasure, favour, benefits; The list goes on as long as we believe we have an inheritance in Him!
We have to be strong and bold to possess the land. Just like Caleb and Joshua; different spirited people who do not just sit back but who desire and want and take hold of their inheritance.
Ecclesiastes 10:19
A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry, but money answers everything.

Money is necessary as part of our inheritance. It involves the last day transfer of kingdom wealth to the believers in the body of Christ.
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

We have to pass on our inheritance and legacy to the next generation as it was passed onto us.
Revelation 11:15
Then the seventh angel sounded: and there were loud voices in heaven saying the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever!

We are under the dominion of the King of kings. What He owns we own. We are His ambassadors in the earth. We have to think and behave as citizens of the kingdom of Heaven.

Deuteronomy 8:18
And you shall remember the Lord your God for it is He who gives you power to get wealth that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers as it is this day.

This must be ingrained into our spirits. It will pass us by unless we grab a hold of what He has for us. Just like the woman with the issue of blood who needed healing. In faith she reached out and grabbed a hold of what she needed (Jesus) and received her healing.
We have to be in faith and declare what is to be. Not allowing fate to lead but faith.
Our heavenly Father is there to bless us, heal us, deliver us, and cause us to walk in overflow and in destiny.
Psalm 112:3
Wealth and riches will be in his house and his righteousness endures forever.

God wants us to be righteously aligned to Him. When we understand what the transfer of wealth is for, we will know how to steward it.

Principles of Claiming Your inheritance

1. We have to understand that there is no lack with God
He longs to release and restore what belongs to us.

2. We have to understand transfer
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

We cannot enter the kingdom unless we have been granted access. Once we enter we are fused with Him. We cross over from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His light. We have a blood covenant connection. We have been translated/transferred.
We have to understand the transfer, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

3. Kingdom wealth and overflow of inheritance is seeing God face to face.
Romans 8:11
But the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His spirit who dwells in you

As we pursue His face then comes the outworking of our inheritance. He has ordained good works as part of our inheritance.

4. We have to break the poverty mentality of lack
Psalm 66:12
You have caused men to ride over our heads; we went through the fire and through the water but you brought us out to rich fulfillment.
He has brought us out to rich fulfillment.

5. We get our inheritance when we press into God

COMING TO A PLACE OF AGREEMENT WITH GOD

Isaiah 61:1-2
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
      To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
      And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
      And the day of vengeance of our God;
      To comfort all who mourn,

Luke 4:18-21
18 “ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
       Because He has anointed Me
      To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
      To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Jesus’ custom was to go church! He did not just attend but He served and was into it. He chose these passages from the Book of Isaiah because He was expressing His agreement with God – He said the scripture had been fulfilled! Dare to believe God. Everything Jesus says has meaning. We say we believe prophecy  but when we come to God we have to live in the fear of God and live with an expectant heart – minute by minute. We have to agree with God without reservation, not having a plan b.

Five truths about agreement with God

1. Agreement with God may disagree with people

Ruth disagreed with Naomi but she knew her destiny was there with her. It was beyond Ruth and she agreed with the Spirit of God.

Ruth 4:17
Also the neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “There is a son born to Naomi.” And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

She was not insignificant she agreed with God.

2. Agreement with God may disagree with your plans

Daniel 1:3-4
3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.

The king wanted young people to whom he could teach their culture. Daniel was in Babylon but He did not want to defile himself. Despite the rule of that wicked king he would not eat their food. It was God’s plan, not Daniel’s plan to go there. He still served God and did amazing things in God’s Name: he made the king proclaim the name of the Lord!

3. Agreement with God may mean giving up something

Hannah gave her son to the Lord – but she then went on to have many sons. Samuel became the greatest prophet. The very things that you ask of God you may have to give up. But if God asks you for this it is not for nothing!

4. Agreement with God may disagree with the way you see yourself

Gideon had to change the way he saw himself to agree with God. You could be thinking – well I am not that likeable, I am unfriendly and I have sinned – but forget that and agree with God! The Blood of Jesus that was shed on the Cross covers us and God sees this Blood when He looks at those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour. When you do not accept you are a new creation in Christ you are saying to the Lord that His Blood is not enough – this is false humility!  This insignificant man Gideon, agreed with God.

5. Agreement with God will disagree with how others see you

1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

David’s father Jesse did not recognise him – when the prophet came to anoint one of his son’s as king he presented all of his other sons. Even Samuel did not now it was David – God sees the heart not the outward appearance. When you agree with God it will confound people’s minds and this gives glory to God. In God’s greatness He will use us – the most insignificant. God chooses to use weak vessels and not His legion of Angels. Have the same view of yourself that He has of you. Agree with what He wants according to His will, He has done everything so we need to step up to Him and long to see His glory!

THE TRUTH ABOUT PROPHECY

Prophecy is God entering the future; our future to touch our lives. We can grieve the Spirit of God when we rehash our past. God is into our future not our past. We need to have a ‘God perspective’ and picture of who He says we are.

Sometimes people turn back because they cannot see the future, if we camp in our past we cannot move forward. If we do not understand our future we will stay in the past. However kingdom people can see the future and will move forward!

Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to the word, it is because there is no light in them.

The prophetic word is the releasing of the light, love, revelation, and the DNA of God spoken into us. It must line up with the word of God.

Matthew 24:24
For false christs’ and false prophets will rise and show great wonders to deceive, if possible even the elect.

Acid Tests to prove the validity or falsity of prophetic words

1. Does it agree with scripture? If not be wary and reject it.

God releases in the right time the right word. It will line up with the Word of God. Any word we receive should always line up with scripture. If it does not line up with the Word of God, it is not from God.

All Prophecy needs to be; tested, referenced with scripture and judged.

2. Does it honour and exalt Jesus Christ?

1 Corinthians 12:3
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed and no one can say that Jesus Christ is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

The more we give ourselves to the Spirit, the more God will give of His Spirit to us. When we receive prophetic words we are to take them seriously. It is a little bit of God speaking into our lives and situations.

1 Timothy 1:18-19
This charge I commit to you son Timothy according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you wage a good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck.

A HEART AFTER DAVID

Luke 5:36-39
36 Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. 38 But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. 39 And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

We need to be stretched! David had a heart after God but he broke all the commandments in one afternoon! Sin is easily dealt with by a repentant heart towards God. If we really are containers of the New Wine, where are the lost? The lost smell old wine in churches. We need living waters to come out of our belly - the Holy Spirit.  People get bruised and battered in the world and then they get bruised and battered at church. This can not be! When you love Jesus you sin less – we are not sinless but we sin less! We need to be containers that can hold the new wine! The old has to go. Whatever you are in the natural could be what is holding you back. Whatever you have been or have done is dung. Don’t glorify the old – old habits need to go.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

We are new creatures in Christ. God will make a new heaven and a new earth. As leaders we all stumble but you have to live with the heart of David that overcomes in the presence of God. The new creates the new! There are new songs, sing a new song to the Lord, there are some that come here and do not walk with us as Pastors because they are unable to take the new wine.

These are the sins we are to avoid:
• The sin of young people is passion
• The sin of middle aged people is pride
• The sin of the old people is prejudice.

If we hold onto old things we become prejudiced. Jesus is the only way, let go of your formula and cultural background because these will not allow the Holy Ghost to flow. The River of God is the life changing history making presence of Jesus in the world today! Put yourself under the Word of God and you will start to flow in this. We are similar to recovering alcoholics because we are also in recovery from sin.  Do not mix who you are with what you are becoming because this pollutes the new.

Leviticus 19:19
‘You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

We want every kind of people in this church – all are welcome from drug dealers to business men. The new wine will fix the old. When you invest in something that is out of order you get no change. If you spend your time in investing what is not God’s you are wasting your time.

The old bursts and splits and such people will run to old wine skins and they cause breakage. So make a decision today and don’t box yourself or God!

Missions

The OCC is a Missions Church. We have a heart for London, Europe and the World. In the last 2 years alone Pastor Steve has ministered in Fiji, India, Africa, America, Holland and Spain… Seeing many miracles of healing and many people making a first time commitment to Jesus. We desire that everyone in the church has a chance to visit and impact the mission field, to grasp God’s heart for people around the World.
(Mark 16:15-20)

We have links with many churches worldwide and benefit from their Apostolic Leadership. We often visit them to support and complement their ministries, as well as receiving them in the OCC to impart something of what God is doing in their country - to build and encourage His people in London.

Missions throughout 2009!

Dear all,

Oh what joy to have had the most amazing two weeks of my life ministering once again in my homeland of New Zealand.

Right from the outset God has been so faithful in opening up some amazing opportunities for me to minister in New Zealand and connecting me with some truly awesome servants of God and of all the ministry trips I have had to New Zealand, this was undoubtedly far beyond my expectations, it was simply the best.

It was quite a busy schedule, but it was remarkable how every day seemed to be a day full of divine appointments and surprisingly the 2 weeks went by very quickly as I ministered in Pastor Peter and Bev’s church City Impact Church in Auckland, David and Suzanne’s church Elevate in Auckland, Ps Toby and Anna Collins in Hamilton, Ps Malachi from CMF Fiji and Ps Lee’s church from Korea, also a tremendous pastors conference with about 80 pastors from New Zealand and finally finishing off with Ps Brent Douglas at Encounter in Auckland and then home via Hong Kong.

During this time, the Lord’s anointing was so heavy at times that I was overwhelmed with His presence and a fresh desire to seek Him. All of my meetings had a definite manifest presence of God resulting in salvations, healings and impartation.

God gave me prophetic words in New Zealand that during the next ten years there would be three major moves of God, I felt that God wanted to stir up a second wave of 24/7 365 Davidic worship from New Zealand back to other nations and much of my preaching focussed on stirring a new zeal for New Zealand in the areas of 24/7 intercession, 24/7 worship and of course 24/7 soul winning evangelism. Often the Holy Spirit teaches you as you go along but a real burden has come upon my heart to believe for fresh waves of God’s glory to follow the preaching of His Word. This of course was confirmed by Bill Subritzky who on two occasions spent considerable time praying for me by phone, this was a most significant time. For those who know Bill Subritzky, he has an incredible ministry, and the prophetic words and the ministry he imparted to me will cause me to never be the same again.

I was also able to catch up with many friends and had a significant time with the mayor of Auckland, John Banks, who was an old friend from the days when I ran Tony’s restaurants. It has become apparent to me that although I have been out of the nation for 12 years I am still a New Zealander at heart, I hope to be returning soon and John Banks has offered his help in my bid to obtain a New Zealand passport.

All in all, I am certain that the Lord has given me an assignment for New Zealand and I am coordinating with some of the Pastors for a return visit as many other pastors that I have known from the past with large networks wanted me to minister except there were not enough days.

Significantly I had preached on the waves of God at the Ps conference and prior to leaving I received an invitation to preach in Samoa next year, as I left New Zealand a tsunami wave of destruction hit Samoa. Almost immediately I heard the Holy Spirit say that before God sends His best the devil tries too send his worst. I will definitely be accepting that invitation and look forward to Gods restoration of His glory over Samoa. Pleas pray that I will be able to accept that invitation.

I noticed that there are changes in New Zealand, years ago it was unusual to find large churches but now there is a fresh break through over the nation and I can only see unprecedented growth and favour coming out of New Zealand for the next 10 years, with the purpose of New Zealand releasing back into Europe and other nations anointed missionaries to carry the fresh move of God.

I returned home in time to celebrate my 50th birthday in some style where I was picked up from my home in a massive stretch limo and whisked off to a sumptuous meal. My church has given us a first class ticket on the Eurostar to Paris and 2 nights in a five star hotel and one family have given us an all expenses paid trip to Portugal. All in all turning 50 has been a positive experience. My first Sunday back in Watford, I was carrying a heavy impartational anointing and the glory of the Lord fell.

My family are all well with my wife becoming more and more beautiful each day and with the children all showing signs of growing and developing in their own ways but also growing in their relationships with the Lord.

I am now off to L.A. for a large men’s conference and then down to minister in San Antonio, Texas.
There are clips about my trip to New Zealand trip on our website.
Thank you to every one who has prayed for us.
Steve Maile

Dear all,

This past weekend I was able to be with Alan Woodhouse and the Aylesbury Vale Community Church. Alan is a dear brother who I have been working with for 20 years, when he started his church in Aylesbury with his wife and son they must have had no more than 20-30 people. I can remember going there and stirring the church up for evangelism and preaching in their town centre with one guitar and a microphone. In those early days it was tough work with not much fruit, on one occasion I can remember preaching in a small service and 14 people responded to Gospel that night.

Well, it is amazing what God can do, yesterday, we had a big outreach in the town centre, the church has now grown to more than 200 members with several Church plants, they had a full band, stalls, clowns, games for children, free lamb roast, food and drinks.

It was a wonderful time and of course I had the opportunity to preach the Gospel. Literally hundreds heard the message, 11 people responded directly and I had the joy of praying for half a dozen or more people for divine healing. The first time I preached it must have been convicting one person so much that he pulled the plug out of my microphone, undeterred I continued on and the second time I preached we saw an even greater response. As people joined hands in the street and the power of God literally swept over that place, one woman who was an alcoholic was saved and delivered right there in the street.

My son Danny came with me and took plenty of photos but the most encouraging thing was to see that whenever the Gospel is preached it truly brings freedom and liberty to a city.

 Colossians 1:6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

After I had preached the Gospel, the Holy Spirit was just hovering over the place ready to confirm the Word, the whole atmosphere changed, the joy, the singing, the unity amongst Christians and most importantly the lost that were being prayed for and ministered to, and the sick being healed was incredible. In fact for a small moment it was hard to believe this was England which shows that God has not forgotten Europe and he wants a tangible visible expression of Christianity in every town and every city.

We need to pray for Pastors, to open the doors up again for evangelists to come in and to stir up the saints for soul winning and also to lead the saints in the work of sharing the Gospel

Please continue to pray for me and our church family as we continue to minister across the Body of Christ.

Last week the churches in Dubai invited me to go back for a week to preach the Gospel and to also visit Bahrain and Abu Dhabi, I also spoke with a Pastor from Belgium who has five Church plants and would like me to come and do the same there.

Bless you all; please stay in touch, love and blessings

Nathan’s story

LindaHave you ever been looking for a new job, or house, and walked in through the door to be met by that assured feeling of this is the one, perfect? That’s how it was for me coming to Oasis City Church in 2004, like a home coming.

Having moved down to London to meet new musicians and further my chances in the music business, I was prompted to call an old friend of my brothers’, James, to see if he could further my opportunities. All I can remember from the conversation was his insistence that I come along to ‘this awesome church.’ I’ve never looked back!

Oasis City Church is definitely the church today for the people of tomorrow. If ever a generation needed guts, heart, leadership, friendship, character, it’s this one. Oasis City Church has been the catalyst in my life for all these things. The sense of family and belonging is hard to describe, but I know that the encouragement and love that I share in this church is a solid foundation for whatever my future holds. Vision for the future is exactly what I’ve found here. Such a sense of purpose and direction.

There are so many things for me to get involved in, from music to football, youth work to missions abroad. I’m more fulfilled than ever, and I’mjust hungry for more. There are so many reasons these days to avoid church. But if God created us and knows everything about us, then His church should be the most real, relevant and exciting place to go in any city. A place for every diversity of person. Oasis City Church is the closest thing I know to this. I invite you to walk through our doors just once, and see what it could mean to you.

Linda’s story

LindaAs a woman I was desperate to be loved and appreciated. A desire for this took me into a string of destructive relationships with men. Each relationship I entered into became more and more unsatisfying, leaving me with no respect for myself or men.

Six years ago visiting a dear friend, I was introduced to a young lady who introduced me to Jesus. She spent a whole year preaching the gospel to me until I decided to go to church. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new!”. I can honestly say that this scripture has become real to me.

My life has completely turned around. I know now that everything I need is in Christ. God is now restoring in my life all the things that the devil has stolen from me: Joy, Peace, Womanhood… I cannot imagine my life without my Wonderful Jesus, because of Him I have a brand new life in Jesus!

Ben’s story

BenAs an unbeliever I thought I was a pretty good person. I was married to a lovely lady whom I met at university. I had a secure job as a school teacher and owned my own home. I became the British and world natural bodybuilding champion and achieved professional status in the sport. However even with all this I felt depressed in my heart, I would wake up each morning wanting to stay in bed and not face the world. I hated the state of the world and felt powerless to change the way things were. I wanted to know my true purpose, I knew there was a yearning in my heart to know where I came from and to know where I was headed.

My younger brother had been a Christian for several years and invited me to his local church on a number of occasions. Each time I made an excuse not to go. I had debated with him about religion and thought because I was a ‘good’ person I would go to heaven. I also thought that different religions were different pathways to heaven and God.

One evening my brother called and my wife answered the phone, during the conversation he invited us to his church. After the call my wife asked me if we could go to his church - O.C.C. and I agreed to go. When we got there, we were both warmly welcomed; it was like another world, everyone was so genuinely loving and caring. We both accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal saviour that day.

Since becoming a Christian and attending O.C.C. my life has changed radically. The depressed feeling I had went and I have a greater sense of purpose. ‘He who is not content with what he has will not be content with what he wants.’ Basically true contentment for me came when I received Jesus into my life. Even though I had a beautiful wife, nice car and good job (not to mention I was the British Natural Bodybuilding champion) I was still not content. I believe that there is a God shaped hole in our hearts that can only be filled by God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the bible, 1 Timothy 6:6, tells us that Godliness with contentment is great gain. I believe that true contentment comes only with having a relationship with the Living God.

O.C.C. is a true church family. The teaching at O.C.C. has helped me to develop my relationship with God, I am beginning to understand what true love is. Before becoming a Christian I lusted my wife, I now love her. No one can know true love if you do not know God. 1 John 4:8, tells us that God is Love. God loves everyone and wants to have a relationship with everyone which is why He gave His only begotten son to die on a cross for us all - John 3:16. I thought all religions were a pathway to God, I now know in my heart that Jesus is the only way we can get to God and heaven - John 14:6.

James’ story

JamesI was brought up in a Christian home, and was taken to Sunday school from a young age, but I could never understand what made the adults ‘endure’ a Sunday morning church service when there were so many other more fun things to be doing. As soon as I was old enough I stopped going…

Although I always believed in God, it wasn’t until I was 17 when I heard about the power of the Holy Spirit and the fact that you could have a personal relationship with Jesus, and that He is still performing miracles today. When I realised that EVERYTHING changed. I now have a peace that I know that God is in control of my life and a joy of living with Him everyday. I have witnessed and experienced many miracles since which I cannot explain with science. There are still ups and downs but I am no longer living for myself but Him.

I joined O.C.C. in 2001, and was amazed at the Pastor’s anointing to Preach. I am challenged week after week, and I wouldn’t change that for the world. God has done so much in my life since being a part of this ministry, and I am excited about what is ahead!

Claire’s story

ClaireI was taken along to Sunday school from a young age, but when I was given the opportunity to choose for myself I saw it all as boring and irrelevant. I still believed in God and liked to call myself a ‘Christian’, however my life didn’t reflect this and it was definitely a life of compromise. I chose to believe the parts of the Bible that I liked, and ignored the parts that challenged me! I used to defend the Christian faith, and people used to call me a hypocrite because I said one thing and did another - how right they were!

At 18 I left home for University and I found myself drifting further and further away from God. It was only when I came up against some frightening situations that I found myself searching for more to life. With an emptiness and loneliness that I was denying I gradually began to talk to God again, but I had a stubborn heart and refused to change my lifestyle and surrender to God. I thought He was a kill-joy and was angry with me so why would I want to follow an angry God?!

After 3 years I moved to London and a close friend invited me to go to Church. I kept making excuses until one day she asked me if I was frightened to go because it would mean changing my lifestyle and making some big decisions that I wasn’t willing to face! It was like a knife was pushed through my heart as that was exactly my situation! The next week I agreed to go to a cell group - a small group of people from the Church meeting in someone’s home during the week. (The leader of this group later became my husband!) As soon as I walked through the door I felt the love of Jesus, not the angry God I had conjured up in my head. I started to cry, releasing tears from years of loneliness and anxiety. That night I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that was more real to me than the people around me!! I could no longer ignore the call that God was making on my life.

The next Sunday I went to O.C.C. and felt like I had walked into my ‘home’. I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ that morning…and I have never been the same since! My language changed, my lifestyle changed, the desires of my heart changed and I can honestly say it is the best decision I have ever made!

As time goes on I can feel the reality and presence of the Lord in my life stronger every day and I am amazed at what He’s doing in my life. O.C.C. is like my second home and my second family! God is there - it’s a part of His worldwide Church! God has used Pastor Steve & Karina as an abundant blessing in my life and my growth in the things of God and the non-compromising stance that O.C.C. takes is a tribute to the Spirit of God and how real He is!

I can’t thank the Lord enough for not leaving me where I was…but taking me onward and upward in Him, forgiving me of my sins and having a plan for my future that’s full of hope! Surrendering to Jesus is the best thing anyone can ever do! ‘If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved’ Romans 10:9.

story

IsraelMy life before I became a Christian was full of pride, pride and more pride. Everything came easily – money, girls, work and anything else I fancied YET I still was not happy because I was never content with what I had – UNTIL the beginning of 1999.

Whilst on a contract with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon, I heard Pastor Steve Maile preaching and he spoke right into my heart. Right there and then I knew I had to change my way of life. I gave my life to Christ the last Sunday in August 1999.

More has happened in my life over the past few years than ever before. I now feel a strong sense of belonging to my Church, my Church family, and my Heavenly Father. - Now my wife Catharine is the greatest blessing in my life to date. Oasis City Church has challenged me to become more of a man and leader - which when lived according to Biblical standards isn’t easy. I am stretched and tested every week! Before O.C.C. I would never have considered full-time ministry. Now I am patiently excited in the prospect of one day serving God full time with my wife!

Niazi’s story

NiaziLike thousands of people in England, I have been a ‘Christian’ in name for as long as I can remember. If an official asked me for my religion I would say Christian. If asked to swear an oath, I would elect to swear on the Bible. In truth, by the time I had come to the end of university, the only belief I would have firmly defended would have been the notion of a Supreme Being - God, if you will - who had created the universe. After all, the scientists couldn’t account for how it had all started, they couldn’t create or explain creation, but they could, it seemed, account for everything else.

Besides, I was a successful law student, heading for a lucrative career. I had come a long way on my own talents. Ahead of me was a lifetime of achievement and acquisition. I was going to have a wonderful life, filled with lovely experiences and expensive things. The churches of England were places where I had listened to and sung beautiful choral music, but I hadn’t found answers to life’s questions there. I already knew that Christianity in truth was a relationship with a living God, not a ‘religion’ in the sense of a man-made set of precepts, ideals and ceremonies. But I wasn’t about to ‘follow Jesus’, that, surely, meant giving away everything I had and becoming a preacher, cleric, or general do-gooder of some sort. Why would I give up everything for a god I wasn’t sure about?

At the same time, I was exercised by the big questions of life. What was the meaning of life? Why was I here? Would death be the end? I had studied philosophy along with law, and had been fascinated by the theories of humanity and society put forward by men such as Plato, Hobbes, Kant, Hume and Wittgenstein. I had even developed a theory or two of my own. There was plenty of time, though. I was young, death was a long way off, and I had everything going for me.

I hadn’t actually read anything in the Bible for years. I still look back in amazement at how I completely failed to search for answers there, at how I completely failed to consider even reading it critically, ‘testing’ it.

I had been brought up in a Christian family and, during these later times, my family was praying for me. In the second year of my career, my fiancée and I, through my family, encountered two women and one man of God. We heard of their travels, of their experiences, and of the miracles that they had seen. My wife prayed with one of them, was deeply touched, and in my family’s drawing room knelt and repented of all her sins, confessing Jesus Christ as her Lord. As she knelt in tears I, also, was touched. I knew, deep in my spirit, that Jesus was Lord.

For some months that was it. We had both encountered God, but our busy lives hindered us from getting to know Him better. We ‘looked for a church’, however, no one we asked, however close to us or God they were, ‘pushed’ us towards their church or any other. Then, through a series of ‘coincidences’, we came to O.C.C. We had barely been there 5 minutes before it was powerfully confirmed in our hearts that it was God’s place for us.

We continue to be blessed powerfully by God through his works in O.C.C., the teaching of His Word by the pastors, and through the phenomenal worship and fellowship there. We have learned to put God first, instead of ourselves, and in doing so we have come into a fulfilment and joy that the world cannot give. When you choose to make God your god, instead of yourself, you allow Him to guide you in His perfect will for your life, into the perfect destiny He has for you. My wife and I have not become preachers, clerics or charity workers. God hasn’t told us to become those things. I am still a lawyer, and I still aim to make a fortune. The difference is that it is all under God. As He directs me, I will do. His plan for my life is infinitely better than the hit-and-miss path I would have followed by ‘trying to do the right thing’ without Him. When you truly love someone, you desire to know them intimately, you thirst for their company. So it is with God. His Word says that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). I, like millions of others, have found this to be true. God is no liar; He keeps his promises. It’s exactly as Proverbs 3:5-6 says it is:

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.’

Life in God is ‘abundant’ life (John 10:10). It is a life of victory, of needs being met, of problems being solved, of emotional and physical healing, of loving and giving, of supernatural peace and joy. God does not impose His perfect will on anyone. Like everyone, I was created with the complete freedom to choose or deny God’s life for me (see Deuteronomy 30:19). Choosing Him was, and always will be, the greatest thing I ever did.
